We estimate that the time Pa Henare spent learning on the marae would equate to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 5 years, and it’s this knowledge that forms the basis of DoW and his PhD Thesis ‘He Puna Iti i te Ao Marama—A Small Spring in the World of Light’ that was awarded ‘Korero Pono—Best Non-Fiction Book’ by Massey University in 2013.
